5-axis image stabilisation delivers blur-free images

The 5-axis image stabilisation on the E-M10 Mark III reduces camera shake in any situation for blur-free, high-quality images.

Top-class stabilisation performance[*]

The OM-D E-M10 Mark III features in-body 5-axis image stabilisation for the best stabilisation performance in its class. This feature powerfully suppresses camera shake which tends to occur when shooting at night or in dark indoor settings, and when using a telephoto lens, making it easy for anyone to enjoy photography, anywhere, anytime.

  • 4 shutter speed steps of compensation performance, lens: M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ, focal length: 42mm (35mm equivalent focal length: 84mm), CIPA standard compliant, when correction is carried out on two axes (Yaw/Pitch)

Reduces camera shake no matter the lens[*]

The major advantage of in-body image stabilisation is that it delivers 5-axis image stabilisation no matter what lens is attached. It compensates for camera roll which cannot be compensated for by an in-lens stabilisation system, and also for shifting which tends to occur during macro shooting.

  • Micro Four Thirds/Four Thirds lenses

Capture beautiful handheld 4K video

The E-M10 Mark III is capable of recording 4K video. Although camera shake is usually more noticeable in 4K video, the powerful 5-axis image stabilisation makes it possible to record beautiful video handheld. It is also possible to extract and save still images from recorded 4K video.

Supporting the lens, imaging sensor, and image processor

Image quality is generally determined by three components: lens, imaging sensor, and image processor. The E-M10 Mark III is equipped with the same TruePic VIII image processor as the  flagship E-M1 Mark II, delivering beautiful image quality even when shooting in dark locations. But if camera shake occurs, the image will be blurred despite the above components delivering a high quality image. In that sense, the 5-axis image stabilisation supports those components in delivering high image quality, by keeping the image blur-free.
